Project Manager

Department: Project Management

Reports To: Project Management Director

Position Summary:

Responsible for internal management of client accounts, including client-facing communication and internal team management. Also assists with overall resource management. Ensures client satisfaction, quality delivery, profitability, and effective management of REI projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Lead project planning and day-to-day management of client web and online marketing projects
    • Estimate projects with help of teams and managers.
    • Develop and maintain detailed work plans, project schedules, ensuring project milestones are met on time
    • Lead definition and documentation of project requirements, including business requirements, measures of success, change management, communications, and project analysis for projects
    • Communicate regular status reports and project updates to team, management, partners, and other project stakeholders
    • Coordinate dissemination of assets from clients to production team
    • Adhere to BarkleyREI process and standards through all phases
  2. Assist with overall resource management
    • Help to maintain interactive production schedule to ensure maximum resource utilization
    • Assist in problem solving to eliminate schedule bottlenecks while maintaining steady flow of project work
    • Proactively contribute to avoid scheduling conflicts
    • Work with internal team members to resolve scheduling conflicts
  3. Ensure quality and timely delivery
    • Ensure delivery of superior quality, effective work
    • Establish effective working relationships with team members
    • Maintain open, professional, and timely communication
    • Manage project and account risks and raise issues/concerns to management
    • Manage project controls, including change control, documentation, meeting minutes, etc in support of delivery
    • Lead problem resolution initiatives and maintain issue tracking process
    • Conduct post-implementation review and document lessons learned.
  4. Ensure account profitability
    • Develop and maintain detailed project estimates and budgets in conjunction with account team
    • Deliver projects on budget through project estimating, tracking, reporting and invoice tracking
    • Develop statements of work and change orders
    • Keep clients abreast of budget throughout projects and present change orders when necessary
  5. Actively participate in team and company development
    • Actively contribute to the creation and optimization of an efficient and effective process
    • Support team members in skill transition and knowledge transfer

Education/Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

  • 4 + years working with and managing complex web projects in an agency environment
  • Interactive agency experience strongly preferred

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to manage large, full-service interactive accounts with a multitude of simultaneous projects and initiatives
  • Understanding of full spectrum of web development process, from strategy, UE, design, execution and marketing
  • Solid understanding and command of project management tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to organize information quickly and be detail oriented
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Flexibility in accommodating rapid change
